Tim Stead Trust Artist Patron Scheme

Launched in 2024, the Tim Stead Trust Artist Patron Scheme is an ongoing initiative that connects artists, collectors and supporters through a shared commitment to making and material.

The scheme invites artists to become Artist Patrons by donating an artwork to be sold through the Trust. These works are then made available exclusively through us, creating a direct way for the public to support both the artist and the Trust’s wider programme of exhibitions, events and education.

For those purchasing, the scheme offers an opportunity to engage with the work of artists whose practices resonate with the values of the Trust. Each piece is offered at a 15% reduction on its current gallery price, recognising both the generosity of the artist and the shared intention behind the scheme.

Among the artists currently involved is David Lightly of The Wood Neuk. His work on offer includes a series of Oak wall hangings and a unique Burr Elm Sculpture, reflecting a lineage of making connected to Tim Stead’s original workshop and its continuation today.

Also part of the scheme is Richard Goldsworthy, based at Marchmont Creative Spaces. His work Obsidian (2021) is part of an ongoing exploration of drawing through wood, where sculptural forms are used to create charcoal impressions that carry the material’s grain and structure onto paper.

The scheme is ongoing and open to artists and makers for discussion. We welcome artists who would like to contribute work, and those who wish to support like minded artists and makers through the Trust’s public programme. Each artwork strengthens a network of support that sits at the heart of what we do.
